The Family ...

哥哥: Cookie (6 yrs old)

Owner: "Cookie is cool and aloof....He is intelligent. Like someone who has 'seen the world' kind. Not too friendly. Boh chap kind...."
Artist E: I try to give him the "hng" look, as if he is a bit "dao" (proud)....well, since he is the 哥哥 (Big Brother), shouldn't he look "proud" and "protective"?

弟弟:Oreo (4years old)

Owner: "We got him from the petfarm. He was already close to 4 mths when we spotted him...no one bought him because of his black coloured face. We bought him because of his playful personality very trusting, gentle and sweet. He is well loved by everyone at home and even the neighbours...We call him didi at home because he is the youngest."
Artist E: As he has a playful character, I decided to paint him at a corner, with much space on top, leaving "space for imagination"...

Muffin (the rescued stray dog)

Owner: Muffin has a sad puppyhood. Was abused and we rescued him from those workers...He is insecure...Muf is now under medication to 'slow him' down because he is always nervous. It's a lifelong kind of thing but we decided that we should keep him and help him relax instead of putting him down as a few dog expert suggested that we should since he is flawed in his temperament. We cannot bring ourselves to kill a life like that.

Artist E: Muffin has a sad past, luckily he was saved...I tried to give him a "smile" in the painting...I also let him rest on a purplish background to make him look more relax and calm. Life is precious, Muffin's owner, I salute you for not putting him down like what the "experts" suggested!

When "Maggie Meets Cookie"?

Naggy Maggie, Australia

Maggie is from Australia, but you will be suprise by her language ability. Apparently, Maggie understands English and Mandarin since young, but not Malay. She has the habit of telling other members of the family off when she is unhappy, yes, and non-stop (what a nag!).

How do you keep her quiet then? "We start using malay to talk back then she will get confuseed and keep quiet," said the owner, "...i have to confess that i spend sometime to get use of her color but apparently vets said she is very unique cause they never see a tortoise shell which has so many ginger color."

Ah Jai (阿仔, English name Cockie) , Hong Kong.

"A spoilt and stubborn brat, but very affectionate when he gets his way. Very curious about new things. A bit sly.", said the owner affectionately.

"Cockatoos are very intelligent animals, possessing the cognitive abilities of 3-year-old human beings (some people say). They even know how to use tools. For example, this one uses a stick to scratch his back..." (from the owner's blog http://singaporeaninhongkong.blogspot.com/)

Of course, like other cockatoos, Ah Jai is very active and can speak a number of languages.

Have you ever wonder what will happen when "Maggie Meets Cookie"?
